Hole-Expansion: Sensitivity of Failure Prediction on Plastic Anisotropy Modeling

نویسندگان

چکیده

The influence of yield function parameters on hole-expansion (HE) predictions are investigated for an anisotropic AA6022-T4 aluminum sheet. HE experiment is performed in a fully-instrumented double-action hydraulic press with flat-headed punch. Full strain fields measured by stereo-type digital image correlation (DIC) system. stress state gradually changes from uniaxial to plane-strain tension biaxial the radial direction. Besides HE, plastic anisotropy characterized and experiments. Uniaxial considered as most important, since it along hoop direction hole. For finite element (FE) simulation, Yld2000-2d non-quadratic used two different parameter sets, calibrated by: (1) only (termed Calib1) and, (2) both (Calib2). field show good agreement experiments Calib2, which takes into account well tension. This indicates importance modes, particular tension, adopted produce accurate simulations.

triaxiality factor and lode angle effects on failure of a steel considering plastic anisotropy

x-100 steel is one of the most recently developed materials for production of gas transportation pipelines. this material is severely anisotropic. smooth and notched round bars with different notch radius and flat notched specimens with different notch radius and notch depth in tension are tested to characterize the failure of this material under quasi-static loading condition. triaxiality fact...

Sensitivity of Failure Prediction to Flaw Geometry

The assumption of ellipsoidal flaw geometry has been widely used in calculations of the probability of structural failure conditioned on nondestructive (ND) measurements. Clearly, in most cases the flaw geometry is not ellipsoidal and in the particular case of cracks the actual geometry may deviate significantly from a degenerate ellipsoid (i.e., a planar crack with an elliptical plan-view shap...

Cold work simulation of hole expansion process and its effect on crack closure

Using cold working fastener holes is a simple life enhancement procedure that strengthens metallic components by retarding crack growth around a hole. In the present paper, the residual stress field that is induced by the hole expansion process is obtained based on different material models namely elastic perfect plastic, isotropic hardening and kinematic hardening using three-dimensional finit...

Modeling of Failure Detector Based on Message Delay Prediction Mechanism

Based on analysis of basic cubic spline interpolation, the clamped cubic spline interpolation is generalized in this paper. The methods are presented on the condition that the first derivative and second derivative of arbitrary node are given. The Clamped spline and Curvature-adjusted cubic spline are also generalized. The methods are presented on the condition that the first derivatives of arb...

Influence of modeling material on undercut slope failure mechanism

A series of physical modeling tests were conducted by means of a beam type geotechnical centrifuge machine in order to investigate the drainage impact on the slope failure mechanism under centrifugal acceleration. Meanwhile, the phenomenon of stress redistribution in undercut slopes and the formation of arching effect were studied. For this purpose, a poorly graded sandy soil (Silica sand No. 6...
